Xuelang Tech Town2

xuelang

Xuelang Tech Town is located in the core area of Taihu New City, the central strategic zone of Wuxi’s Internet of Things (IoT), covering an area of 3.5 km2. With the guiding philosophy of “IoT Changing the World,” the town gathers multiple functions such as cultural exhibitions, innovative finance, smart living, and industrial platforms. Committed to spreading the concept of IoT, the town aims to become a model IoT town, an important source of global IoT thoughts and industrial development, and a significant platform for promoting the comprehensive upgrade of the manufacturing industry.

River and Lake Governance Research Base of Nanjing Hydraulic Research Institute3

The base consists of the Taihu Lake Model Test Hall, scientific research and management rooms, hydrometeorological comprehensive observation field and other components, with a total construction area of 27,578.8 m2. Nestled within this hall lies a remarkable physical model, designed to simulate the wind-generated flow spanning the entire Taihu Lake. With a meticulous horizontal scale of 1:500 and a vertical scale of 1:10, this model is an invaluable tool for exploring the intricate realms of water dynamics in shallow lakes. It delves into pollutant migration and diffusion, cyanobacteria development and booms, sediment transportation and siltation as well as water treatment solutions.

Laboratory of Taihu Basin Monitoring Center of Hydrology and Water Resources4

The laboratory covers an area of 9 acres, with 3,200 m2 of laboratory buildings. It has obtained 225 items of CMA metrological certification by the National Certification and Accreditation Administration. The laboratory is equipped with 9 field scientific investigation vessels, nearly 160 automatic monitoring facilities for hydrology, water quality, and cyanobacteria, as well as lake current observation stations, providing top-tier hardware conditions for watershed water management research in China.

Bogong Island in Lihu Lake5

Bogong Island is the largest artificial island in Wuxi City, with a green area of about 40 hectares. It is one of the theme parks in the 36 km sightseeing belt around Lihu Lake. Bogong Island is named in honor of Zhang Bo, a pioneer in water management, and the island is an ecological island that integrates water conservancy projects, nature, ecology, and cultural landscapes.
